Keep Nursing Faculty at Sydney – PETITION

Please download the attached Petition requesting that Sydney University not go ahead with the proposal to get rid of its Faculty of Nursing.

The proposal is to send the student nurses to the University of Technology and the Australian Catholic University.

The petition will be sent to Sydney University Vice Chancellor, Professor Gavin Brown, and the federal Minister for Education, Dr Brendan Nelson.

Anyone can sign the petition so print out and collect lots of signatures.

The text of the petition is:

• We are against the closure of the Nursing Faculty at the University of Sydney.
• This will affect the degree because it will place pressure on staff, decrease resources and increase class ratios.
• This will affect Nursing Faculties at UTS and ACU by increasing their student intake and class ratios.
• This will effect the nursing profession and add to the nursing shortage.
• This will eliminate the only Indigenous Australian Health nursing course in Australia.
