SAS Staff (School) News, October 1010 October 2005ENROLMENT FORM BANS LIFTEDThe SAAS Staff Newsletter of 29 August advised members of the PSA Schools Departmental Committee resolution to place a ban on the processing of school enrolment forms until the PSA and DET meet to discuss problems with the forms and DET agrees to allocate additional staff resources for the input of the data on the OASIS systems.DET has advised its agreement to the provision of additional resources and discussions are taking place on the amount of additional hours that are needed. In light of this members are instructed to LIFT the bans on enrolment forms. Advice will be given ASAP on additional resources to be made available. ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOOL SUPPORT OFFICER POSITIONFurther discussions have taken place on the establishment of School Support positions. The Department has removed the provision that the "positions would only be allocated to schools where a SAS Staff members does First Aid duties." The PSA is to receive a further proposal from the Department very shortly. The amount of funds available for allocation of the positions is $8 million. Spread across all schools this funding would provide approximately ½ day per week for each school.
