TAFE Western Sydney Institute: “Class Support Review”12 March 2008On 10 March the PSA met with WSI in a final attempt by the PSA to avoid a dispute in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission over WSI's lack of consultation with you or your union over the "class support review". Throughout 2007, the PSA had been told that the first part of the "review" would be 'information seeking'. Implementation would not happen until a full process of consultation had happened. The "Class Support Review Research Project 2007" had, in fact, recommended to WSI that the "service/supply model" (also known as the "purchasing model") be implemented, WSI had made that decision, and intended to implement the "service/supply model" from the start of Term 2, 2008. What happens next ...Over the next two weeks, PSA representatives will visit you at your workplace to find out what you think about the review generally, issues that class support staff want addressed, and the "service/supply model" specifically.We will then meet with WSI again to represent your views.
