SASS Staff News re Teachers Strike

19 May 2008

TEACHERS' STRIKE ON THURSDAY 22 MAY

Teachers are taking industrial action in support of transfer rights. They have been directed by the NSW Teachers Federation to do so.

SAS Staff are not on strike and therefore report for work.

The PSA advises all SAS Staff to report for work to their respective School on Thursday 22 May 2008. Even if the principal has closed the school for the day SAS Staff are required to be on duty.

It is important that SAS Staff do not undertake the duties of Teachers. Members are reminded that under no circumstances should they supervise students.

There have been reports that some principals have advised that their schools will be closed however SAS Staff should report for work. If you are not taking strike action you are required to report for work. Failing to report for work will result in loss of salary.

SAS Staff should report for work on Thursday 22 May 2008.

Please give all SAS Staff, including General Assistants, a copy of this bulletin.
