SAS Staff News re ERN – Enrolment and Registration Numbers, 12 June 2008

The DET has not provided adequate training for ERN. The Association has expressed concerns in relation to the training program AND the implementation of the ERN system but the DET has ignored our representations.

The DET is now requiring the Regional SAS Staff Reference Groups (RSRGs) in some regions to fund ERN training. It is the PSA's position that any costs associated with training should be provided by Head Office.

The Association has been inundated with complaints associated with the implementation of ERN and we have advised the Department that our members have had enough.

The President, Sue Walsh, sought an urgent meeting with the DET to discuss these issues and to present the many emails received from members supporting the PSAs position. The Department has agreed to meet with the Association at 8.30am in the morning (Thursday 12 June 2008) to resolve the concerns.

Should this meeting fail to resolve the issues in relation to ERN implementation and training the PSA will be directing members to ban ALL activities associated with ERN.

Members will be advised of the outcome of the meeting by faxstream after the meeting.

In addition, we are asking administrative staff to complete the attached survey below and return to the PSA by fax on 9262 1623 as soon as possible to further support the PSA in future discussions.
