Ongoing restructures throughout the various Divisions of the Department continually result in the numbers of new members being offset by the resignations of retiring members and those displaced staff accepting voluntary redundancies. This is reflected in the monthly recruitment figures at times showing lower membership growth.

To address this problem the PSA attended the Department's new staff induction program 28-3-08 and was well received with positive results anticipated in the short term.

To maintain a higher profile amongst new staff on an ongoing basis, at the invitation of the Department, we will be repeating the exercise at the next induction in approximately 3 months.
