Dignity & Respect Charter signed – covers DET, schools, TAFE

The PSA wrote to Michael Coutts-Trotter, the Director General of the Department of Education and Training and Managing Director of TAFE in July 2007and asked that he sign the charter on behalf of the Department and TAFE.

This was finally agreed and on 6 March the Director General, Michael Coutts-Trotter, the General Secretary of the PSA. John Cahill and the General Secretary of the NSW Teachers Federation, John Irving all met and signed the charter.

The Department has agreed to make copies of the charter available to all schools, departmental offices and TAFE Institutes. In addition, the PSA will work with the DET to put in place training to assist Management and Staff to implement the charter.
