RTA Inspectors Vehicle Regulation – New Award

"That the PSA executive endorse the RTA IVRS recommendation of 6 February 2008 and that the PSA negotiate a new RTA Inspectors vehicle regulation award".

The February IVRs advisory group carried a recommendation that the PSA seek legal advice as to whether the PSA should:

1. lodge a section 17 award variation to include all conditions currently contained in Industrial agreement 8411 in a new separate clause to be included in the Crown Employees RTA Salaried staff conditions award; or
   
2. negotiate and lodge a new Inspectors award to rescind and replace Industrial agreement 8411.

The request for legal advice was approved by the General Secretary and McNally Jones Staff have advised on 22 February 2008 that the PSA should pursue the conversion of Industrial Agreement 8411, with modernisation into an award.

The RTA have agreed to commence negotiations.
