Negotiation of a new Audit Office award

The current Audit Office Award has expired and ongoing negotiations have been held with the Audit Office. The salaries provision within the Award has been the centre of negotiations so far.

This Award has a Memorandum of Understanding attached which provides for a 3% salary increase or an increase equivalent to the CPI.

A meeting was held with the Audit Office management on Thursday, 22 May 2008, when the Memorandum of Understanding was discussed in much detail. The Audit Office advised the Association that they had received legal advice on the legitimacy and status of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Negotiations on the new award will continue with the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 28 May 2008.

There are also a number of concerns re the performance provisions included in the Award.
