DADHC House Manager dutiesExecutive, 26 May 2008, EX63/08
"That in regard to the House Manager's position in DADHC, the Association instruct the relevant Regions that such local agreement where they have been directed to take out-of-hours calls in conjunction with the position and duties of Network Manager, is to cease immediately. The Association will table this issue at both the local JCC meeting scheduled for June and for the Statewide JCC scheduled for July."
The Association was contacted by members across the regions of Far North Coast, Mid North Coast and New England concerning a local agreement where they have been directed to take out-of-hours call in conjunction with the position and duties of Network Manager. There are several areas of concerns for members who hold the position of House Manager versus the position and duties of Network Managers. Firstly, the position description of House Manager states under purpose and key responsibilities, point 9: Receiving and managing calls out-of-hours in relation to the effective operation of the Service from time to time. The position description furthers states: This duty does not mean that the House Manager provides out of hours Support - other staff will be rostered on for this duty. Secondly, there is no monetary allowance or any other relevant resources for example, the use of Departmental vehicle, required for the management of out of hours calls provided to House Managers.
