TAFE Conditions of Employment Award 2005

The NSW Industrial Relations Commission has made an award covering conditions of employment for TAFE Administrative and Support Staff.

The Award provides updated leave conditions including the improved paid maternity, adoption and paternity leave provisions which were negotiated in conjunction with the 2005 Public Sector Salaries Award. Updated allowances (from 1/7/05) are in Part B of the Award. Members should note that their salaries are not included as they are covered by the Public Sector Salaries Award.

Clauses 49 to 59 cover trade union activities and the rights and responsibilities of PSA delegates and of management. They are now aligned with the provisions for Public Service employees.

The award applies to members of staff for whom the PSA has sole coverage. Leave has been reserved to include classifications of employees for whom the PSA has joint coverage with other unions (e.g. General Assistants/Toolstorepersons) and to include classifications of employees who are solely covered by other unions.
