2008 PSA Jean Arnot Award

Jean Arnot (1903-1995) was instrumental in the early struggle for equal pay for women in Australia. She was the Chair of the PSA's Women's Auxiliary and was awarded the PSA Gold Medal in 1937.

The PSA commemorates Jean Arnot's life and work through the Jean Arnot Award. The Award, which is open to all women members, is for an outstanding work which demonstrates a commitment to advancing the causes of women members of the PSA.

The last recipient Cheryl McGuire, PSA Senior Vice President & Chair of Women's Council received the Award in 2004.

Selection criteria and nomination form are attached below or can be obtained from Chrissie Joannou in the Women's Unit on (02) 9290 1555 or email cjoannou@psa.asn.au.

Closing date for nominations is 5pm, Friday, 18 July 2008.

Please forward nominations to the General Secretary PSA, Attention Sandra Lockey, GPO Box 3365, Sydney NSW 2001 or fax to (02) 9262 1623.

The winner of the Award will be announced at PSA Annual Women's Conference, which will be held on 11th and 12th September 2008.
